flEXO
This project focuses on creating a wearable thumb and finger exomuscle to improve the motor function of the index finger and thumb for individuals with impairments. The EMG-based flEXO detects finger movement intentions and adjusts string tension using servo motors, enabling natural finger motion.
What did we do?





2Dto3D Brace
A 3D-printed palm brace designed to lie completely flat when not in use but seamlessly wraps around the palm during use for ergonomic support and comfort.
String Based Extension and flexion System
A flexible palm brace combined with a series of rings directs strings to enable finger flexion and extension. When tension is applied to the strings, the system translates the motion into controlled finger movements.
